In January 2026, wildfires began tearing through central and southern Chile. The fires move fast. They have burned more than 45,000 hectares of land. At least 21 people have lost their lives. Entire neighborhoods are disappearing. Over 800 homes have been destroyed, and tens of thousands of people have fled with nothing but the clothes they were wearing.
Our beloved Shree Devi Maa, who lives and teaches in Chile, reached out to her community to see who needed help. Within minutes she began receiving responses and five families were chosen. Each shared the same story. Their homes were burnt down to the cement block foundation and everything they owned, including their cars, was lost.
When you live near the poverty line, there is no safety net. Loss like this is devastating.
With the blessings and compassion of Her Holiness Jagadguru Sai Maa, MAA Humanitarian sent each family a monetary gift to help them restore their homes. Because of you, they did not have to wait to begin rebuilding. They purchased materials immediately and got to work.
While not all family members are pictured, each household has shared with Shree Devi how deeply grateful they are for your support and the love surrounding them as they take their first steps toward rebuilding.
