The Gift of Eyesight Program, 2025-2026

Restoring Vision. Transforming Lives.

Across underserved communities in India, cataracts remain one of the leading causes of preventable blindness—especially among the elderly. For many, limited access to nutrition, the use of low-quality cooking oils, and a lack of basic health education quietly increase the risk over time. What begins as blurred vision often becomes a loss of independence, dignity, and connection to the world around them.

Through the Gift of Sight Program, this story is being rewritten.

Each year, dedicated medical teams and volunteers come together to serve communities that would otherwise go without care. More than 500 individuals are screened annually, with free cataract surgeries offered to every person in need. Beyond surgery, hundreds more receive essential medicines and eyeglasses—simple interventions that make a profound difference.

But this work is about more than restoring vision.

It is about restoring possibility.

When someone can see clearly again, they can return to daily life, reconnect with loved ones, and move through the world with renewed confidence. It is the difference between dependence and independence, isolation and participation, darkness and light.
